Vegan cake brand, OGGS, has made its supermarket debut at Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.

Oggs, formerly known as Alternative Foods, announced its plant-based products would be distributed by two major UK retailers earlier this year – and are now on the shelves.

The cakes, which are available in selected stores nationwide, include Zesty Lemon, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Fudge, and Victoria sponge.

Priced at £2.35 for a two-pack, £3.95 for a four-pack, £4.95 for a singular 5-inch cake and £3.85 for nine fairy cakes; the vegan treats are also sold in a 100 percent recyclable package.

‘Ethical food without compromise’

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Founder of Oggs, Hannah Carter, said: “We’re all about ethical food without compromise and creating delicious all-plant ranges that is affordable for all.”

Vegan eggs

Oggs has also released a vegan egg replacement using aquafaba- the liquid leftover from cooked chickpeas- in a bid to ‘see food manufacturers cutting out the use of real eggs in their products altogether and replacing them with this natural plant protein’.

You can sign up to Oggs, which are set to be available by September this year, to receive a free sample of the product
