US Rail Giant Amtrak Introduces Vegan Option For Overnight Travellers On Capitol And Lake Shore Trains

US rail giant Amtrak will introduce a new menu for sleeping car customers aboard its Capitol Limited and Lake Shore Limited trains starting June 1.

The lunch and dinner menu, a list of sandwiches which is delivered to passenger bedrooms or ‘roomettes’, features an option for plant-based diners – the vegan wrap.

Customer feedback

According to the company, it wants feedback from customers in order to keep refining the menu options.

Bob Dorsch, Vice President of the Amtrak Long Distance Service Line, said: “Our plan is to provide new and fresh food choices in a contemporary way for these overnight trains.

“Our continued success depends on increasing customer satisfaction while becoming more efficient.”
