The UK’s largest recipe box company* has launched a plant-based burger in a bid to meet growing demand.

Gousto’s Ultimate Vegan Burger patty is made from soy protein and beetroot.

It is available now, and will be part of Gousto’s festive range in The Ultimate Vegan Christmas Burger – complete with sprout slaw, dairy-free cheese, and vegan gravy for dipping.

Meat-free demand

According to Gousto, a fifth of its customers say they are actively trying to reduce their meat consumption – encouraging the company to expand its meat-free offering.

“We’re so excited to have created a truly amazing recipe that will allow us to further expand our plant-based recipe offering into the new year,” Gousto’s Food Director, Rachel Chatterton, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.

“We extensively tested the burger patty against a range of competitors, and we’re confident that it far surpasses similar products on the market, both in flavor and texture.”
