UK cupcake favorite Hummingbird Bakery has announced its plan to launch its first ever line of vegan baked goods next month.
In a bid to keep up with the surge of veganism, the bakery will be introducing a vegan Red Velvet Cupcake and vegan Whole Red Velvet cake to seven of its shops across London and Surrey from January 8.
The new additions – which will be available online and in-store – will be baked on-site and made from the ‘best possible ingredients’, according to the dessert chain.
‘We listened’
Hummingbird Bakery’s Founder Tarek Malouf explained that the new animal-free cupcakes address the high demand for vegan options.
“Customers told us they wanted a vegan option of our cakes and we listened,” he said.
“We wanted to offer an amazing vegan cupcake that is every bit as delicious and authentically American tasting as the Red Velvet cupcake we introduced to the UK in 2004.
“The Hummingbird Bakery’s new Vegan Red Velvet Cupcake compromises nothing from the original recipe, we are really proud of this vegan version of our bestseller.”
