Yet another vegan eatery has joined the stellar line-up in Dalston, east London.
The Little Vegan Cookie Co, which has opened a pop-up shop for September, joins nearby vegan restaurants Pamela (currently hosting a Club Mexicana residency) and Fed by Water – with the new branch of veggie eatery Mildred’s also close by.
Cookies
Customers will be able to pick up cookies in a range of ‘soft and gooey’ flavors, including salted caramel & pecan, rocky road, and triple chocolate.
There will also be a small range of vegan-friendly snacks and drinks on offer, including Vego bars, quinoa puffs, ‘cheeze’ toasties, and locally-made Dalston Cola.
Gap
The Little Vegan Cookie Co. was founded in September 2016, when vegan couple Sarah and Keiran, decided they wanted to create a plant-based business together.
According to Sarah: “We realized pretty quickly that we would like to start a company making soft-baked cookies, as this was something we missed since going vegan, and were not able to find on the market at the time.
“We began selling our cookies through our online shop and at vegan fairs and festivals.
“At the start of 2017, we started supplying vegan shops and cafes with the cookies, which have been a big hit amongst customers. We regularly add new stockists and have plans to introduce gluten-free and refined sugar-free lines.”
Success
The idea of a pop-up shop came to Sarah at the start of the summer, after a successful year on the vegan festival circuit.
She says: “We love meeting customers at weekend fairs and festivals, so thought why not extend this to during the week too.
“We also want to bring vegan food to the high street to hopefully attract more non-vegans, and show them how good plant-based food can be!”
The shop, at 374a Kingsland Road in Dalston, will be open 10am – 6pm Wednesday – Sunday for the month of September only (excl. 17/09). Find out morehere
