Bar and restaurant The Alchemist has announced that it will be adding vegan options to its menu for the first time ever.
The new menu – which launches on May 15 – will feature a Keralan curry with chickpeas and cauliflower rice, a Shawarma Cauliflower Steak served with Harissa yoghurt and a mixed grain salad.
The Alchemist has outlets in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Chester, Oxford and Nottingham.
‘Extremely proud’
Simon Potts, Managing Director of The Alchemist, said: “We’re extremely proud of the new menus; our teams work tirelessly to provide a memorable drinking and dining experience for our guests.
“It’s a big task for our teams to create the next big thing but their creativity and passion never falters.
“We hope visitors of The Alchemist love the new additions as much as we do.”
Demand
The Alchemist, which was launched in 2010, follows a number of retailers and eateries in offering more plant-based options.
Thanks to a growing demand for vegan food, major outlets have announced new suitable products, including supermarkets Tesco and Waitrose, which today announced the launch of a ‘breakthrough’ vegan steak and the addition of a dedicated vegan respectively.
Last week it emerged that health retailer Holland & Barrett has plans to open vegan-only stores.
