Tesco is launching a festive vegan wrap later this month – complete with plant-based ‘turkey’.

The Wicked Kitchen Festive Feast Wrap (£3), which is a brand new option for 2019, will launch in stores on October 28.

According to Tesco, the wrap offers a ‘wicked vegan alternative to the classic Christmas sandwich’.

“Pea protein ‘turkey’, parsnips, crisp greens, traditional sage and onion stuffing with cranberry and creamy vegan gravy mayo create this plant-based Christmas feast all wrapped up in a soft, grilled tortilla,” said the retailer.

Vegan Christmas

The sandwich follows a slew of ‘meaty’ vegan festive dishes announced recently by major retailers.

Marks & Spencer is offering a ‘No Turkey’ roast with cranberry and chestnut stuffing, accompanied by cocktail sausages and gravy. Sainsbury’s has created a seitan wellington as well as plant-based pigs and blankets.

In addition, Morrisons has revamped its vegan pigs in blankets. This year, the store is offering sausage made from jackfruit and chickpeas, wrapped in a ‘streaky pastry’ instead of bacon.
