Coffeehouse chain Starbucks has introduced a vegan-friendly hot cocoa to its holiday menu this week.

The new Toffee Almondmilk Hot Cocoa, which is a non-caffeinated beverage, is made with almond milk blended with mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup.

Dairy-free

The seasonal drink is topped with whipped cream and caramel brulée topping – but can be made vegan by ordering without whipped cream.

According to a Starbucks statement: “Though it’s made with Almondmilk, Toffee Almondmilk Hot [Cocoa] is not dairy-free because it is topped with whipped cream!

“To order it dairy-free, customers can ask to ‘hold the whip’.”

The new festive drink is available in Starbucks stores across the U.S. and Canada.
