Vegan-friendly meal replacement drink Soylent is set to launch in the UK on Tuesday.
The soy-based beverage is framed as a sufficient replacement for solid meals, marketed to those who might otherwise skip meals or have poor nutrition.
Soylent
The drink, made popular in the US, will be available in the brand’s three most popular flavors – Cacao, Cafe Mocha, and Original.
Each bottle of Soylent contains 20g of protein, and 26 vitamins and minerals.
The product will retail in cases of 12, priced at £39.99.
‘Healthy balance’
In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Soylent CEO Bryan Crowley said: “For many of us, a busy lifestyle means it’s hard to get the nutrition we want, despite good intentions.
“Falling back on bad habits of skipping meals, snacking on junk food or eating nutritionally sub-par foods can become the norm as we struggle to maintain a healthy balance.
“At Soylent, we call these occasions ‘food voids’ and we’re on a mission to make these obsolete for consumers everywhere.”
