Australian coffee shop owners have reported that more and more people are choosing plant-based milks instead of dairy.

According to them, it’s not just vegans who are switching to non-dairy alternatives.

Shift

Adelaide’s Pollen 185 café owner told media outlet Adelaide Now: “I’ve noticed a real shift. People who eat eggs still order the nut milk for their coffee or chai. I think they taste better now.”

The owner, Jyoti Bindu, has also started making her own nut milks to address the growing demand.

Nutrition Republic’s owner added: “We’re finding people are loving non-dairy alternatives in chai lattes or golden (turmeric) lattes — it just really enhances the flavour of the product.”
