Pret A Manger will be launching vegan versions of four of its most popular sandwiches, baguettes, and wraps in its Veggie Pret outlets.

The high street giant currently has four Veggie Prets – in London and Manchester – and will be opening a fifth in Canary Wharf later this month.

Pret revealed to Plant Based News that its Food Innovation Managers have ‘re-imagined four classic sandwiches, baguettes and wraps with a twist…[they] have been carefully created ensuring that they taste just like the originals, but that they only use vegan ingredients’.

‘Experimenting with vegan food’

“Veggie Pret is a space where we’ve had a great opportunity to experiment with vegan and veggie food,” Pret’s Global Head of Food Innovation, Hannah Dolan, told PBN.

“It’s our mission to make it easier for customers to eat less meat, so we challenged ourselves to recreate the delicious flavors and textures of our meaty bestsellers, using only vegan ingredients.

“We’re excited for everyone, (vegans and non-vegans alike), to try The Vegan Classics – and to see if they can tell the difference between the new vegan recipes and the originals!”

The Vegan Classics will go on sale in Veggie Pret shops coming weeks.
