Prada Reports Massive Drop In Leather Sales

Fashion brand Prada has reported a
22 per cent drop  the in sales of its leather items for the first half of 2016. 

The
Italian-based luxury fashion company is facing decreased sales of 15 per cent worldwide. 

Prada recently released two leather handbags – Prada Cahier and Miu
Miu Dahlia – but still failed to capture consumer interest. 

Animal-free

Meanwhile, brands such
as like Aritzia, Armani, Vagabond and Hayden-Hartnett are opting for more
ethical materials, and textile producers are innovatively creating animal-free
leather from kombucha, mushrooms and pineapples.
