Plant-based pop-up Essential Vegan will be launching a permanent café in London at the end of the month.
Essential Vegan’s artisan cheeses and decadent cakes will soon be available full-time at its new Hackney base.
The eatery will source from local suppliers, in a bid to give back to the community.
The café
Founded by Brazilian chef Vanessa Almeida, Essential Vegan features a wide range of dishes inspired by Brazilian culture.
The chef is bringing a taste of Northern Brazilian food – which includes ingredients like tapioca and acai – to Shoreditch, London, she told PBN.
The permanent space will benefit from an updated menu that will feature new plant-based cakes.
Essential Vegan will launch a crowdfunding campaign next week to help its new space.
Cooking classes
The chef also offers free vegan cookery classes, in an attempt to help people understand nutrition and healthy eating.
Almeida told PBN: “I teach people different ways to use vegetables, how not to waste food, and I also teach children how to cook – it’s good to start early.
“I’m trying to get families to engage with cooking, and sometimes people cannot afford paying for classes,” she added.
The Essential Vegan Café will launch on September 26 and will be open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday.
