London’s King’s Cross area will host a vegan street food festival next month.

Livin’ on the Veg – which describes itself as ‘the ultimate vegan rumble’ – will bring together eight traders over August 18-19.

There will also be three vegan bars serving wine, beer and cocktails, as well as DJs spinning tunes throughout.

Visitors buy a ticket (£25), which entitles them to a dish from each stall and a cocktail. They then vote for their favourite trader.

The stall holders will include the legendary Temple of Seitan, serving up fried ‘chicken’-style seitan, as well as Biff’s Jack Shack which will offer jackfruit ‘wings’ with maple bourbon hot sauce.

Eat Chay – a Korean outlet – will be serving bánh mì and the Eritrean Lem Lem Kitchen will offer its ‘afro-tacos’ complete with spicy lentil filling.

Petare – which serves Venezuelan food – will offer a mix of goodies, including sweet fried plantain and veg ‘feta’ stuffed sandwiches and Spice Box will be serving Indian-style tandoori cauliflower ‘steak’. There will be a Thai red curry available courtesy of Greedy Khao.

Dessert will be offered by the Young Vegans, who will serve up ‘mud pie’ brownies made of chocolate and peanut butter.
