In this exclusive interview with Plant Based News, top vegan bodybuilder Nimai Delgado – who will appear in James Cameron’s upcoming documentary The Game Changers – talks about his diet, and how he’s achieved his physique, without the use of steroids.
Responding to critics of his diet, he calls plant-based eating ‘the best-kept secret in bodybuilding’.

According to Delgado, the most frequent criticism he faces is that he must take steroids.
He says: “People just don’t understand the concept of veganism – they are like ‘what do you eat?’.
“Then they see someone with a substantial amount of muscle mass, and they are like ‘you’re telling me you built all that with just plants? I don’t believe you – you must be taking steroids’.
“The reality is people focus so much on supplementation and don’t focus on food. Your body responds to food.”
