Pizza Express is bringing vegan pizza to the frozen section of hundreds of supermarkets in the UK.

The Vegan Giardiniera Pizza – already offered at Pizza Express restaurants – will be released at Waitrose later this month.

Vegan Giardiniera

The pizza is topped with artichokes, spinach, red onion, mushrooms, and plant-based mozzarella.

The crust is in the chain’s ‘classic’ style, and features a passata sauce.

Vegan options

The UK pizza chain also recently announced new additions to its in-store vegan menu – to become available from World Vegan Day, November 1.

New dishes will include a Peperonata pasta, a Puttanesca Pizza, an a vegan-friendly carrot cake.

Innovation

Timothy Love, Senior Marketing Manager at Pizza Express said that the expanding vegan menu is in response to changing food trends.

He added: “This innovation is set to continue, and we’re delighted to see such positive response to our menu.”
