A UK food brand has launched nut-free hazelnut-flavored chocolate – aimed at nut allergy sufferers.
Kinnerton, which makes the NOMO range of chocolate bars and Easter eggs, says its new creation is the ‘first-ever’ Nut Free Hazelnot Crunch Choc Bar.
The treat was inspired by its polling which revealed that 71 percent of people with a nut allergy say they often feel left out of social gatherings because of their allergy.
‘No one misses out’
“Ensuring that no one misses out is the cornerstone of our brand and one of the reasons we have gone to such extraordinary lengths to create a Nut Free Hazelnot choc bar,” Emma Perrett, senior innovation and brand manager of Kinnerton Confectionery said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“We know that some people can’t enjoy great tasting nut chocolate, and that all consumers should have a variety of choice and flavor at every occasion.
“One of our aims at NOMO is to develop mainstream flavors that we know customers will love regardless of whether they are vegan or have a food allergy and so we are delighted to offer this new delicious nut flavored, but completely nut-free, chocolate to the market.”
The bar is available from Asda for an RRP of £2.00. NOMO’s other flavors, including salted caramel and fruit & crispie are available from a range of retailers including Holland & Barrett, Tesco, and Waitrose.
