Morrisons has launched a vegan pepperoni pizza in a U.K supermarket first – and it costs £2.50.

The retail giant says it created the meat-free option for ‘those looking to cut down on their red meat intake’.

The Morrisons ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza is made from vegan dough, and is topped with tomato, as well as plant-based cheese and pepperoni.

‘Listened to customers’

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Leanne Cory, Morrisons’ pizza counter buyer, said: “We have listened to the many customers who want more vegan options at our pizza counters and have worked hard to bring them their favorite toppings without compromising on flavor.

“The new Vegan ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza offers a convincing meat-free alternative and tastes just like the original – you really won’t believe it until you’ve tried it.”

The Vegan ‘No Pepperoni’ Pizza is available now for £2.50 at Morrisons pizza counters, in the majority of Morrisons stores.
