UK supermarket Morrisons is returning giant 1kg avocados to its shelves.
The Morrisons Giant Torres Avocados, which weigh three times as much as a normal avocado, take around 10 months to grow.
The retailer, which first launched the avos last year, said it ‘works closely with its grower, Horacio Frias, in Argentina to monitor the crop conditions and to harvest at the optimum time’.

The store adds that the fruit has a 70 percent flesh to 30 percent stone ratio, which means the avocados offer around three-times as much edible area than their medium-sized counterparts.
“The Giant Torres Avocados were a huge hit with our customers last year so we’re delighted to be bringing them back,” Avocado Expert at Morrisons, Liam Hancock, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“They are perfect for sharing or as an ingredient in meals such as avocado on toast”.
The Giant Torres Avocados are available in the majority of Morrisons stores now while stocks last. They cost £2 each.
