Birmingham-based vegans will soon be able to enjoy a range of sweet and savoury plant-based pies.
The Pie Shop – on Pershore Road in Stirchley – is due to open later this summer, with a note on its Facebook page saying: “Opening date and hours will be posted very soon…..”
‘Tasty’
According to the company, a the menu will feature both ‘everyday favourites’ and some more unusual combinations. It describes its fare as ‘tasty home cooking at affordable prices’, and added: “This is first 100 per cent plant based pie shop in the West Midlands and quite possibly the UK.
“The Pie Shop aims to provide a basic need for tasty home cooking at affordable prices in a setting that is a fusion of olde world meets modern world.
“As well as providing tasty food, we will also be raising money for animal charities currently supported by Karma Collective – Wonky Pets Rescue and The Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice.”
‘Hopeful’
Owners added: “We hope this new venture will bring something new to the ever growing vegan community and hopefully encourage more people to eat cruelty-free.”
The Pie Shop is part of the city’s Karma Collective – which includes the Purely Vegan Store and Deli in Kings Heath.
