Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement towards the end of last year, fans of the Royals have been eagerly eyeing her every move.
So it should come as no surprise that old interviews with the actor – and star of series Suits – have been dug up and pored over.
One in particular has been making the rounds over the last few weeks.
Vegan leather
In the now-famous interview the actor did with Good Housekeeping magazine (appearing in its June issue) the star spoke about her penchant for vegan leather.
She said:”My wardrobe for my part in Suits isn’t like Working Girl – dressing for work doesn’t have to be so on-the-nose these days.
“The key is to have your own point of view attached to it.
“Personally, I love cropped pants in vegan leather, a great fitted blazer and a button-down [shirt].”
According to the Business Insider: “Searches for ‘vegan leather trousers’ jumped 67 percent after Markle name-dropped it in an interview.”
‘Part-time’ plant-based?
Despite the actor’s love of vegan leather, she is not actually vegan.
She revealed earlier this year that her plant-based diet is not a full-time ethical commitment.
She told Hello magazine: “I try to eat vegan during the week, and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.”
Although Markle eats animals, various publications have labeled her ‘an animal lover’, and reported that Prince Harry abstained from his usual Boxing Day shoot this year in an effort to appease her.
