A leading vegan food outlet says McDonald’s may be launching new vegan options in the UK after images of the items were leaked online.

Vegan Food UK, which has a large following on social media as well as a website, suggested the burger and wrap may be released in ‘time for Veganuary’.

Taking to social media, the outlet posted leaked images of two new items, and wrote: “Rumor has it that these potentially could be the new vegan options at McDonald’s – what do you think to them?”

The items include a ‘red pesto veggie goujons sandwich’ and a ‘red pesto veggie goujons wrap with spicy relish’.

If they are released, they will follow the fast food giant’s vegan launch in Finland and Sweden – the McVegan, which was initially trialed in one Finnish outlet in October 2017, before being rolled out across the two countries.

Plant Based News spoke to a McDonald’s spokesperson over the phone earlier today about the leaked images – they were unable to confirm or deny the rumor.

PBN is currently awaiting further comment from McDonald’s.
