High-end retailer Marks & Spencer has released a vegan heart-shaped beet patty to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Sharing an image of the patty on social media, M&S wrote: “Let us introduce our Heart-Beet Burger, made with roasted beetroot and sweet onions. Pick one up in store now and serve in a fluffy bun for a vegan Valentine’s dinner that’s sure to get your date’s heart-beet racing.”
Marks & Spencer vegan
M&S has made huge strides forward in expanding its vegan offering in recent times, launching its own animal-free range at the end of 2018 – called Plant Kitchen.
Among its 60 some products, are a burger which took 12 months to develop, BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Pizza, No Pork Sausages, Cauliflower Popcorn, and Rainbow Veg Sushi Wrap among other items. It also includes sides like Vegan Coleslaw and Potato Salad. Prices range from £1.50 to £3.50.
Exciting vegan food
“Some people think meat-free food is boring but that couldn’t be further from the truth, it’s experimental – and it’s delicious,” Claire Richardson, who developed the range alongside a team of food experts, said in a statement.
“We’ve created a collection that will appeal to everyone – whether you’re a longstanding vegan, want to lead a more flexitarian lifestyle or you love meat but think cauliflower popcorn sounds amazing. It’s all about delicious tasting food first – and plant-based second.”
