Lush has launched reusable and biodegradable cleansing wipes, as part of their new naked skincare range.
7 to 3 Face Wipes, which retails at £2.00 each, can be found in UK stores nationwide, online, or at the Lush Naked shop in Manchester – the first plastic packaging-free cosmetics shop in the country.
Lush decided to create a sustainable facial wipe, after their co-founder, Helen Ambrosen, watched a TV program on the devastation single-use wipes are having on the environment.
‘The fastest growing cause of pollution’
The Marine Conservation Society announced that wet wipes have become the fastest growing cause of pollution on our beaches, back in 2015.
According to Water UK, facial wipes make up 93 percent of the material found in sewer blockages, costing the country £100 million annually.
‘A proud moment’
Lush Product Inventor, Gary Shears, said: “With this new invention, a reusable and biodegradable replacement to traditional facial wipes, we have created a product that has a positive impact on your skin without causing harm to the environment.
“It’s a proud moment knowing that we have done something to reduce the number of wipes ending up in the ocean.”
