A London restaurant is adding a deep-fried vegan Magnum to its menu on August 16.

The new dessert option by Halo Burger in Brixton – which serves the Beyond Burger – sees the Magnum battered then coated in crushed up cornflakes and biscuits, before being fried, then drizzled in chocolate sauce.

Halo Burger is also adding a new savoury option to the menu – vegan chicken nuggets from startup THIS – which will be available from August 13.

‘Meat-free movement isn’t going anywhere’

“The movement towards meat-free isn’t going anywhere. At Halo Burger, we’re expertly placed to showcase the best new food technology in a way that’s familiar for 99 percent of the population,” Halo founder Ross Forder said in a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living.

“We believe if the general public are given an option that tastes as good or better than their usual meat option, with the added benefit of fewer greenhouse gasses, less water used, and zero animal cruelty why wouldn’t they take it?”
