A Canadian city will be making the most of World Vegan Month, by encouraging diners to try vegan food with special prix fixe menus in restaurants across the city.
The veg-friendly event – which organizers are calling the ‘restaurant tour’ – runs until November 20.
The tour will culminate in the city’s VegFest – which attracted more than 7,500 visitors in a single day last year.
Encourage
Taste of Vegan London: London’s only vegan restaurant tour will encourage people to try plant-based foods with special plant-based menus on offer in both exclusively vegan eateries, as well as veg-friendly ones for the duration of the event.
The diners involved, including Plant Matter Bistro, The Root Cellar, and Glabally Local, will offer tasty options like nut cheese fondue and buffalo cauliflower wraps.
According to an event spokesperson: “[We want to] invite London foodies to expand their seasoned palates and try something new.
“We aspire to draw vegans and non-vegans alike – from across the city, province, country, and continent – and establish a new food event which will support the tenets of veganism and celebrate the power of this rapidly expanding community.”
‘Cutting edge’
The menus have been specifically created to appeal to both vegans and non-vegans.
The spokesperson said: “Taste of Vegan London menus are specially crafted by the participating restaurants and are available to customers throughout the Taste of Vegan London event dates.
“Specialty menus offer great value to the consumer by presenting an opportunity for new audiences to try vegan foods for the first time and for longtime vegans to explore a wide variety of establishments and taste various menus.
“Restaurants should view this event as an opportunity to showcase their creativity and go cutting edge! In order to stand out among the dozens of restaurants offering vegan fare, menus should be tantalizing and lure consumers in with a description of their fresh, local ingredients and tempting tastes.”
