Ice cream company, Jude’s, has expanded its vegan options with its low-calorie chocolate flavored ice cream, which is now stocked in the supermarket Sainsbury’s.
The ice cream, which contains only 320 calories per tub, is made using coconut milk and sweeteners.
‘Lip-smackingly good’
Jude’s, who describes its products as ‘lip-smackingly good’, said: “We’re excited to bring you this lower calorie vegan scoop. Smooth, rich, and delicious.”
The company also sells a vanilla flavor and coconut flavor ice cream, as well as several non-dairy sorbets.
‘Will definitely buy again’
A Sainsbury’s customer who bought the dairy-free ice cream, which retails at £4.50 per tub, said: “I bought this ice cream because it’s a low-calorie ice cream not because it’s vegan.
“I was worried it wouldn’t be as tasty but it was just as chocolatey and creamy tasting as dairy ice cream. Will definitely buy again.”
‘Rising growth opportunities’
According to a Future Market Insights report, the global plant-based ice cream industry will be worth a staggering $2.45 billion dollars by the end of 2027.
“The global plant-based ice creams market is likely to experience rising growth opportunities due to an increasing lactose intolerant population and rising adoption of veganism,” the report reads.
