Two foodie powerhouses have joined forces to offer Londoners free vegan food next week.
According to mayonnaise giant Hellmann’s – which now offers a plant-based alternative – and London-based Biff’s Jack Shack, they want to help people stick to their Veganuary pledges.
When customers order the Biff & Chip Butty between January 14-27, using the codeword ‘Veganuary’, they will receive a free order of fries.
The signature sandwich features a jackfruit patty with mushy peas, spicy curry sauce, a tartare sauce made with Hellmann’s Vegan Mayo, chips, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. It costs £9.50.
Veganuary deal
“The partnership comes as Veganuary reveals the top reasons Brits took the pledge last year, from animal welfare (43 percent), personal health (39 percent), and environmental reasons (10 percent),” a spokesperson said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“The deal is available to everyone – from veginners to vegan veterans and is set to surprise even the most stubborn meat eaters amongst us.”
A record number of people are taking part in Veganuary this year, with the charity revealing that more than 250,000 people have signed up so far, putting its 300,000 target in sight.
