Famously fiery celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has launched a vegan menu at his Bread Street Kitchen to celebrate Veganuary.

The menu, which will be available until February 13, includes dishes like wild mushroom and truffle risotto and chocolate avocado and almond mousse.

Vegan menu

“Celebrate Veganuary and Love January with our special vegan menus at Bread Street Kitchen,” says the restaurant’s website. “Replenish your body, try something new, or kick start 2019 with these vegan dishes.

“Start your experience with roasted Ironbark pumpkin soup, toasted hazelnuts, and truffle oil, our superfood salad served with avocado, kale, cucumber, and nuts or heritage beetroot with toasted hazelnuts and balsamic.

“For mains enjoy wild mushroom and truffle risotto or charred aubergine, toasted pine nuts, pesto and tomato sauce pizza.

“For dessert don’t miss Gordon’s ‘Ultimate Fit Food’ inspired chocolate avocado and almond mousse, banana sundae served with walnuts and maple syrup or pineapple carpaccio.”

Vegan rush

Ramsay is one of many business owners who have decided to embrace the vegan rush during January.

According to Zoe West, Corporate Outreach Manager for Veganuary – which supports people as they try a vegan diet throughout January – the month offers a ‘real opportunity for brands, retailers, and restaurants to improve, expand, and promote their vegan and plant-based offerings to a wider audience’.

Around 300,000 people are expected to take part this year.

Vegan food options

“Veganuary is creating a new wave of consumers and shoppers with a big appetite,” said West. “We know that regardless of whether Veganuary
participants stay vegan full-time after the pledge, those who have taken part consciously choose more plant-based options. This is one of the biggest drivers in the market for vegan products.

“The interest in vegan options this January is going to be huge and we know that retailers and brands are planning their biggest ever vegan launches during the month…

“The retailers, brands, and restaurants that don’t embrace Veganuary will be missing out!”
