Gordon Ramsay is now serving a vegan breakfast at his Bread Street Kitchen restaurant in London.
The celebrity chef shared the dish, which features tofu eggs, mushroom, spinach, avocado, and tomato on Twitter, saying: “Who knew tofu eggs were this tasty? Vegan breakfast now at Bread Street Kitchen.”
He also shared the recipe for the tofu eggs on his website.
Vegan Gordon Ramsay
This is the second major vegan dish Ramsay has recently added to his menu. Earlier this month, he announced the arrival of his vegan Sunday roast.
He has acknowledged the increasing demand for vegan food, sharing a post on his restaurant’s website saying: “Last year the UK overtook the leader, Germany, in the amount of new vegan products that were released,” says the post. “Plant-based diets are trending, and dairy free milks are offered in any coffee shop worth its salt.
“Between 2014-2018 the number of UK vegans quadrupled, and the sign ups for 2019’s Veganuary doubled from last year.”
Vegan rise
Ramsay – who has lambasted vegans in the past – recently admitted that chefs need to adapt to this rise in veganism.
He made the comments during an appearance on The Late Late Show hosted by James Corden.
“Veganism is on the rise, so we’ve got to adapt and we just have to eat a slice of humble pie,” he told Corden.
