Gathered Foods, makers of vegan seafood brand Good Catch, is to launch in Europe.

The brand says its expansion is a ‘major milestone’ for the company. It follows experts’ predictions that the European plant-based market to be worth €7.5 billion by 2025.

The company is working with distributors to increase product availability across foodservice channels in countries such as The Netherlands and Spain. Moreover, it plans to expand to various distribution channels, including restaurant partners in 2021.

Its plant-based seafood products will be available in The Netherlands, Germany, and Spain. It is currently available in U.K supermarket Tesco.

‘A delicious culinary experience’

Christine Mei is the CEO of Gathered Foods. In a statement sent to PBN, she said: “We’re incredibly proud to establish this strong retail base across Europe.

“Following our successful partnership with Tesco and our recent launch into Canada, broadening our availability in Europe was the next natural progression.

“We’re fully committed to delivering our high quality, crave-able plant-based seafood products to consumers across the globe to provide a delicious culinary experience.”

Vegan seafood investors

Earlier this year, Gathered Foods attracted a slew of celebrities during its Series B financing round.

It received investment from stars such as Paris Hilton, Woody Harrelson, and Lance Bass.

According to Food Business News, the brand said: “Consumer demand shows the evolving excitement for plant-based foods…

The unified support from such an influential group goes far beyond funding alone. The message underscored by their backing is invaluable. We’re thrilled to welcome all of our new investors. “

Moreover, the company added it is ‘hopeful for the growth and continued innovation the celebs’ endorsement creates’.
