With interest growing surrounding veganism in the UK, and record sign-ups for Veganuary this year, vegan takeaway options are popping up in full force around the country.

New research indicates which cities have the most options and which are rated the highest among customers via UberEats and TripAdvisor. The research was conducted by supplements company Garden Of Life.

Vegan takeaway

Claiming the top spot for the highest percentage of vegan takeaway options was Liverpool.

Over 60 percent of the northern city’s takeaways had options for vegans in relation to its total 411 restaurants.

Further down the list featured Norwich, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Leicester, and Belfast. At least 40 percent of all restaurants in the top ten cities offered plant-based options.

In at second was Brighton and Hove, with 57 percent of its restaurants catering to vegans. Moreover, it scored the highest with the most vegan options per population of 100,000 at 89.

Uber Eats

Upon observing the best average ratings for vegan options on food delivery service, Uber Eats, researchers compiled the top six cities. Each of them had a score of 4.5 out of five.

They are:

  • London
  • Edinburgh
  • Bristol
  • Glasgow
  • Brighton and Hove
  • Stoke-on-Trent

Additionally, the UK’s capital has the most vegan takeaway options across over 2,000 restaurants, according to the data.
