Morrisons is adding vegan Christmas donuts to its plant-based offerings.
The gingerbread treats, which are available from 400 stores nationwide, cost just 50p for a pack of five.
They contain a ‘rich and comforting ginger cream custard’ made from spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and star anise. Their ‘fluffy moist outer’ is finished with a dusting of sugar.

Andy Clarke is a Bakery Buyer at Morrisons. He said the retailer created the donuts after witnessing ‘gingerbread lattes going down a storm’.
“Customers say our filled donuts are the best ‘accidentally vegan’ donuts they’ve found,” Clark added. “We’ve made sure that this recipe is no exception.”
Vegan pork pie
Earlier this month, Morrisons unveiled the launch of what it describes as the U.K’s first vegan pork pie.
The retailer says it created the ‘No Pork’ Pie because its meaty counterpart is a ‘classic loved by many’. But, ‘it is a distant memory for vegans and vegetarians because of its combination of pork, jelly and butter pastry’.
Moreover, Morrisons says its vegan version replicates the pork pie through its meaty taste, crumbly pastry texture, and classic appearance. This recipe is such a closely-guarded secret only six Morrisons staff know it.
