Ben & jerry’s is launching its 19th vegan ice cream flavor: The Tonight Dough.
The brand’s latest non-dairy product features caramel and chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, and cookie dough.
It is inspired by TV host Jimmy Fallon and retails in the US for $4.39-$5.99 per pint.
Ben & Jerry’s
Ben & Jerry’s vegan ice cream options have increased significantly over the last year. This month alone, it has released dairy-free alternatives to the popular Americone Dream and Karamel Sutra Core ice creams.
Last month, it veganized its iconic Phish Food ice cream. In the UK, Ben & Jerry’s launched a climate-conscious ice cream that urged political action.
The Save Our Swirled NOW ice cream is a combination of coconut ice cream with chunks of chocolate and a cookie swirl. It is available nationwide in most UK supermarkets.
Demand for vegan ice cream
Moreover, Matthew McCarthy is the CEO of Ben & Jerry’s. He told Yahoo Finance: “As a company that has a cow on the package, we’ve been associated with our Vermont farmers for decades now.
“But, our fans want all kinds of different ways to get Ben and Jerry’s euphoric flavors. And that includes dairy but also includes vegan or non-dairy flavors, which we started, really, developing a few years ago…
McCarthy also said: “The more we released, the more fans said – for whatever reason, dietary restrictions, choices, awareness about the carbon footprint of the food choices our fans make – they just kept asking for more flavors.”
