Macka B is a reggae artist who has enjoyed a career that has spanned decades.

The musician is also a vegan activist – and well known within the movement for songs including Wha Me Eat and Cucumber among others.

In this exclusive Plant Based News video, Macka B spoke to Founder Klaus Mitchell about veganism and music.

“A healthy body leads to a healthy mind,” he says. “It’s just kind of obvious that we’re not meant to eat meat, just checking our bodies and our teeth.

“Even the way that people are – I always say to people, ‘if you ran over a chicken on the road, and you jumped out of your car, what would your first reaction be? Would it be ah, that’s dinner? It wouldn’t – it would be – look at that poor chicken’.

“Any animal that eats other animals – when they see a dead animal it’s food. They don’t think about compassion or nothing like that.

“We think of compassion, so obviously we’re not meant to be like that.”?
