The debut book by plant-based foodie pair BOSH! is officially the best selling vegan cookbook of all time, Plant Based News can exclusively reveal.
BOSH!: Simple Recipes. Amazing Food. All Plants., by Henry Firth and Ian Theasby has sold more than 80,000 copies in the UK since its release just 15 weeks ago. The book topped the Sunday Times Bestseller list for four weeks and was number one in Amazon’s Hot New Releases, three months ahead of his release date in April.
Firth and Theasby, who have been friends since their Sheffield school days, first posted a recipe video online in June 2016. They describe themselves as ‘food remixers’ – taking classic dishes and recreating them using nothing but plants, an approach which has resonated with their 1.5 million Facebook fans.
‘Humbled and delighted’
In a statement sent to Plant Based News, BOSH! said: “We started making recipe videos because when we both began a plant-based diet, we struggled to find decent vegan recipes. We would never have imagined that two years later we’d have the largest plant-based channel in the world, let alone a number one cookbook. We are so humbled that our book has broken records and that people enjoy cooking our food.
“BOSH! the cookbook broke so many records when it was first published by HQ on April 19 this year including the first ever vegan book to be a Sunday Times Number One bestseller, the fastest selling vegan cookbook since records began and the fastest selling cookery book in 2018.
“However, only 15 weeks since publication, we’re delighted that with Nielsen BookScan TCM sales of 80k, BOSH! is now the UK’s biggest selling vegan cookery book ever”.
