Cult skincare brand Drunk Elephant is now cruelty-free certified – and will carry the ‘leaping bunny’ logo.

The US brand, launched by entrepreneur Tiffany Masterson, arrived in the UK at the end of last year in Space NK.

Most of the products are veganbut some, including C-Firma Day Serum; Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30; Umbra Tinte Physical Defense SPF 30; Lippe; and Pekee Bar contain animal products including honey and beeswax.

No animal testing

Posting an image of Drunk Elephant products on Instagram, beauty blogger Cruelty Free Kitty wrote: “Did you know that Drunk Elephant is now certified by Leaping Bunny?

“They’re also still independently-owned so they’re not tied to any parent company that tests on animals.”

Speaking about the certification, Cruelty Free International says: “The Leaping Bunny certification is the global gold standard for cosmetics, personal care products and household products. It is the only internationally recogniszed certification that requires a supplier monitoring system to be implemented by the brand, supply chain checking for animal testing right down to ingredient manufacturer level, adherence to a fixed cut-off date policy and acceptance of ongoing independent audits to ensure compliance.”
