International
pizza giant Domino’s may soon offer vegan cheese in New Zealand – if consumers
show enough interest.

The company
posted a video to Facebook today, alongside a link where users can ‘register’ their support of more vegan options at Domino’s by entering their email.

International
popularity

Demand for
vegan cheese in restaurants is skyrocketing.

While
Domino’s offers vegan cheese in Australia and Israel, Pizza Pizza has rolled
out vegan cheese in Canada, and The Stable offers a whole range of vegan pizzas
in the UK.

In fact,
both Pizza Pizza and Domino’s Australia were running out of plant-based cheeses
not long after their release.

Increasing
demand

This stands
to reason, when the overall increase in demand for plant-based foods and vegan
cheese is taken into consideration.

One report
by Market Research Future says the ‘surge’ is in line with an overall increase
in demand for plant foods.
