The Co-op has launched a vegan steak bake which is available in UK stores now.

The supermarket option, which uses quorn in place of traditional beef, follows the launch of Co-op’s vegan sausage roll.

‘Really proud’

“We have worked hard to perfect the recipe and are really proud of our new vegan steak bake. We hope our customers and members love it as much as we do,” said Kevin Sargent, senior product developer at Co-op.

“GRO is a game-changer for our customers. Whether they are looking to reduce their meat consumption or are vegans, this new range appeals to all and will certainly deliver a delicious inspiration to what we eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just as a tasty snack.”

Greggs vegan steak bake

The new release follows the launch of Greggs’ new vegan steak bake, which arrived in stores earlier this month.

Speaking about the pastry, Roger Whiteside, chief executive at Greggs, said: “Our Vegan Sausage Roll launch was a huge success and we’ve been working tirelessly to expand our vegan-friendly offering and provide more delicious savory food on-the-go options for people looking to reduce their meat intake.”

“The launch of our Vegan Steak Bake is another key milestone on our journey to become our customers’ favorite for food-on-the-go. We look forward to hearing the feedback.”
