One of the most persisting myths about a vegan diet is that it is difficult to consume enough protein.

Top plant-based physician Dr. Neal Barnard discusses the macronutrient in this new video hosted by Chuck Carroll, part of a series created by Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Protein

According to Dr. Barnard: “Back in the 1950s, dietitians looked at it, and it became very, very clear that there is abundant protein in plant products.

“But that question just will not die. Every new vegan – someone has to ask them ‘where do you get your protein?’.

“The person asking doesn’t necessarily know what protein is, but they have to ask where you’re getting it.”
