Over the last two days, a huge number of mainstream media outlets have reported on a new study which looks at the role of fats in the diet.
Headlines include Low-fat diet could kill you, major study shows (The Telegraph) and Large diet study suggests it’s carbs, not fats, that are bad for your health (CBS News).
Plant Based News‘ Klaus Mitchell sat down to talk to Cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn and Nutritionist Martica Heaner, PhD, about the study, which was published in The Lancet.
He asked: “I’ve been told that a high-carb, low-fat diet is good for you, but these headlines suggest the opposite is true.
“What’s going on?”
Dr. Kahn says: “The flaws in the study don’t upend a 100+ years of research.”
