Top pizza company Domino’s has confirmed it will be adding vegan cheese to its Australian menu next year.
Following a recent Facebook post asking people to register their interest to support vegan cheese, Domino’s Australia has officially responded to the high demand, saying: “Wow, we are overwhelmed by the response we’ve received to Vegan Cheese.
“Thank you to everyone who has registered interest so far, we’ve heard you loud and clear. What an exciting 2018 we have in store – watch this space!”
Demand
Although Domino’s Australia hasn’t yet made public the official release date, or the type of non-dairy cheese it will be featuring – it mentioned that the overwhelming demand was reported back to its Product Development Team, and that it will update on any progress on Facebook.
A Domino’s spokesperson told PBN: “Our recent reach out to Facebook fans has been helpful to gauge just how many pizza lovers are keen to see a Vegan Cheese option on our menu.
“We are truly overwhelmed by the response we’ve received, and have reported back to our Product Development team. We’ve been known to bring favourites back to our menu when our customers let us know they were missing them, such as Puff Pastry and our Margarita pizza.”
Domino’s is already offering the plant-based cheese option in Israel – and it seems like it’s slowly going global.
Pizzas in the U.K. are currently still not suitable for vegans, as its base contains animal products.
