Beyond Meat has announced its latest product will hit retail shelves in the US by the end of March.
The new Beyond Breakfast Sausage – which comes in classic and spicy flavors – features more protein than traditional pork breakfast sausage, and 33 percent fewer calories than a leading brand of pork sausage patties.
The products will roll out in the premium breakfast meat section of the frozen aisle in stores across the US this month, including ACME, Albertsons, Key Foods, Kings, Pavilions, Raley’s, ShopRite, Vons, Wegmans, and Whole Foods Market.
‘Advancing health, environmental and animal welfare benefits’
“Our Beyond Breakfast Sausage platform delivers on our promise of enabling consumers to Eat What You LoveTM while advancing health, environmental and animal welfare benefits,” Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat Founder and CEO, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“It has seen early success at some of the most popular and iconic quick service restaurants and we are excited to introduce the first extension of the platform in retail.
It’s been a staple in my own household and I’m glad that families can now enjoy this delicious breakfast option at home while feeling great about nutritional wins like 50 percent less total fat, 35 percent less saturated fat and sodium and no cholesterol compared to a leading brand of pork sausage.”
