Barely a week seems to go by without the Beyond Burger becoming more widely available.

A number of outlets are selling the burger, as well as a range of fast food eateries, offering the plant-based patty alongside more traditional meat options.

The vegan Beyond Burger’s likeness to meat has been much vaunted, with many believing this type of food is paving the way to a meatless future.

Watch the video above to see animal advocate Jane Velez Mitchell – better known as Jane Unchained – guided around the Beyond Meat facility by none other than company CEO Ethan Brown.

She describes the tour as ‘an extraordinary inside look at the R&D [Research & Development], the headquarters, the labs at Beyond Meat where people are doing taste tests and trying to work out what the absolute best plant proteins are.”

She told Brown: “Your products are astounding and they are changing the world.”

According to Brown, taste testers were comparing their burger to animal proteins and ‘trying to collapse more of the differences between a plant-based burger and an animal-based burger’.

He says this is the ultimate goal of the company: “To make sure there are no differences whatsoever.”
