Award-winning chef Doug McNish will be opening the doors to Toronto, Canada’s only premium vegan diner next month.

Mythology Diner, which is set to open on December 1 in Toronto’s neighborhood of Parkdale, will offer traditional diner classics – veganized.

This is the third venture from vegan hospitality company The 5700 Inc., which is known for the international Vegan Food & Drink Festival, vegan retail concept store The Imperative, and vegan comfort food Doomie’s.

McNish, Mythology’s co-owner and executive chef, has recently been honored as the city’s Best Chef in the NOW Toronto Reader’s Choice Awards.

The diner will ‘smash the expectations of your typical greasy spoon’, veganizing menu classics such as Reuben sandwiches, Salisbury Steak, Fish & Chips, Cobb Salad, Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Root Beer Floats.

The animal-free spot is a 36-seat space showcasing iconic art like Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, veganized, and a wall-to-ceiling- Andy Warhol-inspired vegan selfie room.

Located at 1265 Queen Street West, Mythology Diner will be open to the public for dinner service as of Friday, December 1 between 5 pm and 12 am.

Lunch service will begin on Monday, December 18; the diner’s anticipated brunch service will also begin on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1.
