The Nutrition
Guide for Clinicians created by Dr. Neal Barnard and the Physician’s Committee
for Responsible Medicine is now available as an easy-to-download, free
application for physicians.
The app – PCRM Nutrition Guide –
includes the information gathered for the book The Nutrition Guide for
Clinicians.
Already widely
used in North America and beyond, the books were created to fill an obvious gap
in nutritional education received by most physicians during medical school.
Barnard
said: “Instead of doctors not knowing about nutrition, we’ll have it front and
center.”
‘Updated
technology’
The
nutrition expert explained that the app is designed to go ‘one step further’ than the first and even the second edition of the book.
He said: “We
have not only updated information, but updated technology.”
‘The best
doctor’
Available
through both Google Play and the App Store, the app allows users to look up a
variety of ailments to find ‘the latest information on the role of nutrition,
as well as conventional treatment’ – and even includes what physicians can say
to patients’ families.
With this
valuable tool, Barnard tells physicians ‘you’re gunna be the best doctor that your patient’s
ever had’.
