High-street fashion brand Accessorize London has debuted its first vegan bag collection, featuring ten different styles in a range of colors and sizes.

The collection, which ranges from £25 ($33) to £42 ($55) and uses a ‘durable ‘alternative to animal-leather, has also received certification from The Vegan Society.

‘Best sellers’

On Instagram, the brand also stated it is ‘working to make more of its best sellers vegan by spring 2020’ – and has recently launched a collection of scarves made from recycled plastic bottles.

Accessorize states it has ‘zero tolerance for animal cruelty in our supply chain’ on its website – though it continues to use animal-products in some of its products.

‘By-product of the meat industry’

The company does not use, down or feathers, angora, animal-fur of any kind, and refrains from testing its cosmetics or fragrances on animals during production or on the finished product.

“All leather or skin must be sourced as a by-product of the meat industry,” Accessorize states. “Merino wool used in our products must not be sourced from farmers who practice mulesing. Cashmere, alpaca, and mohair used in our products must be sourced from producers with good animal husbandry.”
