A new initiative focused on elevating the status of vegan women as leaders in every country in the world is seeking contributors for its upcoming book and video series.

Showcase

Spearheaded by Australian author and publisher Kathy Divine, the Plant-Powered Women’s Project plans to use a variety of media channels and live events to showcase the leadership work vegan women across the globe are doing and to encourage others to do the same in their own communities.

The project launched last year with the announcement of the Plant Powered Women’s Leadership Conference Series

The first event, which will be held in Sydney in April, sold out three months in advance.

Vegan women from every country

Now Divine, who is author of Plant-Powered Women, Plant-Powered Men, Vegans Are Cool and Everyday Vegans, as well as publisher of the Australian Vegans Journal, is working on a new book on female vegan leadership.

She’s seeking quotes of between 20 and 200 words from women around the world about their leadership roles in their communities and/or their vision for a better or kinder world.

“It’s time for vegan women to lead the world into a kinder, fairer one for all beings,” Divine told PBN.

“During my research for the book I’ve come across matriarchal systems of governance throughout history that were very effective. Currently, we’re seeing a great uprising of the feminine.

“This is all part of the natural re-emergence of a global matriarchal system. That’s my vision for the world and I believe the time is ripe for it.”

‘Amazing work’

Divine is particularly keen for contributions from vegan women in countries such as Africa and the Middle East.

“I’d love to include quotes in the new book from a vegan woman from every country on earth to highlight that vegan women are everywhere doing amazing work and to also bring attention to countries that are not often mentioned in the media for their positive initiatives,” she said.

Women empowering women

As well as the book, Divine is also creating a series of short videos like this one (see above), featuring photographs of women from across the globe illustrating their leadership roles.

These roles could be as an activist, speaker, author, politician, business owner or any capacity in which a vegan woman is creating positive change in her community.

The project aims to inspire and empower vegan women to embrace their strengths, connect, support and collaborate with each other to make effective and long-lasting changes to the world, based on compassion and kindness to all.

“United and connected we will become a powerful global network of positive change,” says Divine.
