A vegan restaurant will be giving away 300 free burgers outside London’s Meatopia festival tomorrow.
Meatopia, which takes place in east London’s Tabacco Dock, describes itself as ‘a weekend-long love affair of meat, drink, fire, and music’.
Now Halo restaurant in Brixton wants to show meat aficionados that ‘plant-based meat alternatives can be a viable part of their diets, all without a shred of compromise’.
Free vegan burgers
The restaurant will send a burger van to Wapping Station, which is near the event venue, which will give out the free burgers between 5 and 8pm.
The sandwich on offer is described as Halo’s ‘meatiest’ – the Smoky Carolina BBQ Burger. It features a Beyond Meat patty, BBQ sauce, smoked gouda-style plant-based cheese, crispy fried onion strips, and mayo.
“Halo’s burger van pop-up will be primed to catch festival go-ers en route to the meat-eater’s mecca,” a spokesperson told Plant Based News. “All they need do is stop by the van for a chance to try this summer special.”
