Animal rights movie Dominion is garnering huge interest from people around the world who want to watch it.

The feature-length film directed by Chris Delforce and co-produced by Earthlings Director Shaun Monson focuses on how animals are used and abused in Australia, and features footage from abattoirs and farms.

A host of high profile vegan faces have leant their voices to the film as narrators, including Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Sia, Sadie Sink, and Kat Von D.

Online

The film is not yet available online: Dominion director Chris Delforce told Plant Based News that the team is currently submitting the film for Netflix consideration, as well as working on making the film available to buy on DVD. When that information is confirmed, PBN will share it.

Netflix consideration can take two to three months. According to the Dominion team: “During this time, we’ll likely be making the film available for online streaming/rental at a small cost, and beginning to sell DVDs.”

Until the film can be viewed online, there are a number of planned premieres – including the UK premiere in central London on June 16, co-hosted by Plant Based News (which is currently sold out).

Events

Additional UK screenings will take place in Manchester on June 18, Sheffield on June 19, and Liverpool on June 20.

The Canadian premiere will take place in Toronto on June 24, with more screenings in July in Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver and Oakville to follow in July.

Los Angeles will host the US premiere on June 30, followed by screenings in San Francisco on July 3, San Diego on July 3, and New York on July 5.

There are further screenings coming up in Germany, Italy, Barbados, Argentina, Macedonia, Spain, Mexico, Australia and more over the coming months. You can find information about these events here.

UK

Speaking about the UK premiere, Plant Based News Co-founder Robbie Lockie said: “We are extremely excited and privileged to be working with the Dominion team to help bring this film to viewers in the UK.

“While it is heartbreaking to witness the suffering documented, we strongly believe Dominion has the potential to open hearts and minds across the world. Helping to put it in front of an audience goes to the heart of who we are as activists.

“We are also proud and happy to be working alongside Surge Activism and The Save Movement in hosting this premiere – remarkable organizations who are working on the frontline to save animals’ lives.”
